Food Science Team Lead (m/f/d)

Your mission
  • Responsible for the innovative product development process and for generating new products from concept to lab and pilot trials

  • Lead and develop a team of 3-4 people whose expertise is in product development, material science, and nutritional science

  • You manage the development process and improving existing products from quality, sensory and functionality standpoint in a close cooperation with our R&D (fermentation) team

  • You will also solve technical challenges and find solutions for issues in manufacturing, quality and product formulation under our existing quality criteria 

  • You define together with your team flavoring compositions for the go to market products in a close feedback loop with consumers and chefs

  • You explore potential future application for the mycelium in a close cooperation with our Innovation and Patent Lead

Your profile
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Natural polymers/Hydrocolloids, Proteins, Materials Science, Biophysics, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent

  • 7+ years of industry or academic research experience in food processing, bio-chemistry, protein manufacturing technologies

  • Plant protein or fungal material knowledge of analytical procedures and equipment including use of Gas Chromatograph (GC), Liquid Chromatograph (LC) and the Mass Spectrometer

  • Experience in leading a team and guiding personal and professional development 

  • Great self-organizational skills– you can multitask and are energized by working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • You have strong interpersonal and project management skills

  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment and influence technical direction
